Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 July 2026 · Applies to MapKraft for iOS and MapKraft for Mac

The short version: MapKraft does not collect your personal data. Your projects, photos, and videos stay on your device. We run no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising, and we operate no server that receives your content.

What MapKraft does with your content

MapKraft is a projection-mapping tool. The images and videos you add to a project, and the projects you save, are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party. When you connect a projector or an external display, your content is sent only to that display, by your device, at your instruction.

Data we collect

None. MapKraft contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier, and no telemetry. The app does not ask for your location, your contacts, or your identity, and it does not track you across apps or websites.

Photos and media access

When you add a photo or video, iOS shows its own system picker and hands MapKraft only the specific item you chose. MapKraft never reads your photo library on its own and does not request full library access.

Camera and microphone

MapKraft can use a camera as a live video source, so a live feed becomes one more thing you can project onto a mapped surface, and it can use the microphone so effects react to sound in the room. Both are optional, and your device asks your permission before either one is used.

Neither is ever recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. Camera frames are turned into a texture, drawn to your projector, and thrown away — nothing is written to disk and there is no server to upload them to. The microphone is used only to measure how loud the room is: a single number that makes an effect pulse. No audio is captured, kept, or transmitted.

Live camera and sound-reactive effects are available in the Mac app today. The current iPhone and iPad version of MapKraft does not use — or ask for — the camera or microphone at all; the only device data it ever touches is the photo or video you pick in the system picker described above. If these features come to iOS later, your device will ask your permission first, and this page will be updated before they do.

Purchases

MapKraft Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase on iOS and processed entirely by Apple. We never see your name, card number, or Apple ID. To decide whether Pro is active, the app asks Apple’s on-device StoreKit service for your current entitlements; that check happens between your device and Apple. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. On Mac, licences are sold through Gumroad; when you enter a licence key the app contacts Gumroad only to confirm the key is valid, and Gumroad’s handling of that data is governed by Gumroad’s Privacy Policy.

Children

MapKraft is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since MapKraft collects no data, any change would only ever add clarity, not new collection.
